Following in a long tradition of piano and guitar duets such as the magnificent Bill Evans/Jim Hall collaboration, international guitarist Laurent Medelgi invites Tommy Scott (p) for an exploration of jazz standards and selected compositions featured on his latest album Live in Shanghai.
An accomplished jazz guitarist and composer with a long international career, Laurent Medelgi is an artist with a dynamic presence in the jazz world.
His distinctive guitar thu blends classic jazz influences with contemporary sounds, drawing comparisons with greats such as Kenny Burrell, Wes Montgomery and Pat Metheny. With a career spanning decades, Laurent has performed in some of the world's most prestigious jazz venues, including New York's Blue Note, Birdland and Smalls, as well as internationally at events such as Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai and Europe's finest venues.

Tommy Scott hails from Wales and lives in Paris, where he has played with many musicians from Europe and New York, including Baptiste Herbin, Sylvain Boeuf, Francesco Ciniglio, Saul Rubin and Plume. His sensitive thu has made him an accompanist in high demand.
