Camille PRENANT Piano
Born in Montreuil, he began playing the piano at the age of 6. At the age of ten, he discovered jazz with Erroll Garner, who would remain a major influence throughout his musical career. He studied classical and jazz piano at the Romainville and Bobigny conservatories, with teachers including Philippe Milanta, Philippe Powell, Patrick Villanueva and Valérie Benzaquine. He completed his studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Netherlands, with érigé Innée, doyen of local hardbop, and Rob Von Bavel, one of the leading pianists on the Dutch scene. His energetic thu is imbued with influences ranging from Erroll Garner and Kenny Barron to Bud Powell, Cedar Walton, Oscar Peterson, Victor Feldman, Phineas Nexborn and many other key pianists in jazz history. He has been playing in Parisian clubs since he was 19, in a wide range of formations, and has also performed in Berlin, Amsterdam, The Hague, Copenhagen, Brussels, Geneva... He recorded his first album in March 2023, as co-leader.
