DESCRIPTION:Le quartet de Laurent ERDOS interprète ses relectures latines de célèbres standards de jazz\, ainsi que ses propres compositions. Leur musique est joyeuse et conviviale\, elle accorde une place importante à la percussion. \nLes années cinquante forme l’un des plus beaux chapitres de l’histoire de la musique cubaine aux États-Unis. Cette période fut celle où le jazz et la musique cubaine se sont le plus mélangés\, tant au niveau de l’orchestration qu’au niveau de l’innovation harmonique et rythmique (cf. le style Cubop\, inventé par Machito et Mario Bauza\, ou la collaboration de Dizzy Gillespie avec le percussionniste cubain Chano Pozo). Les petites formations emmenées par Cal Tjader\, Mongo Santamaria\, George Schearing\, Eddie Cano\, Errold Garner\, Armando Peraza\, ect. ont également fortement participées à cette rencontre.Ces groupes se produisaient quasiment tous les soirs\, cela explique le haut niveau qu’ils avaient atteint dans l’interprétation et l’exécution musicales.\nC’est cette tradition que Laurent Erdos défend depuis tant d’années.
